Did they smell a rat? Saiful was what is commonly known as "double headed snake", double crossing or double agent, etc.
| Quote: | During the elections, he showed support for Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and the Barisan Nasional coalition through his webpage on social networking website Friendster.com.
'At the time, he was also accompanying Mr Anwar on the campaign trail. On his website, he was campaigning for Barisan,' said the source. |
Who's this Anwar old schoolmate Rahimi Osman who introduced Saiful to join Anwar's campaign?
| Quote: | | The youngster [Saiful] is believed to have joined Mr Anwar's office on the recommendation of his old schoolmate Rahimi Osman, who at the time was on the former deputy premier's staff. The schoolmate stopped working there about a month ago. |
http://malaysianunplug.blogspot.com/
Was Rahimi Osman a spy or a spy to spy on the spy? I know it's confusing.
| Quote: | Saiful came to PKR to be a volunteer for the March election. He became Special Assistant to Anwar Ibrahim.
He is a former student at the Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) for the 2006/2007 term. He opted out of the university due to poor results for his electrical course on a scholarship.
A PKR source said Anwar Ibrahim was forewarned about Saiful Bukhari Azlan as a staff, but Anwar ignored the warning. He (Anwar) was told to be careful due to Saiful's suspicious background when he joined the office administration.
The same ‘warnings' had been given to other party leaders after Saiful had became close to Anwar and the staff at his office following the March 8 general elections.
The source also said Saiful showed his support for Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and the Barisan Nasional coalition, through his webpage in Friendster.com, a social networking website.
Saiful is believed to have joined Anwar's office through his old schoolmate Rahimi Osman, who at the time was Anwar's assistant. Saiful assumed Rahimi's duties after the latter left his job. The source added the Saiful's actual role in the office however was "unclear".
According to Haris Ibrahim of People's Parliament (read here):
'...Sometime in February this year, we (Haris and Din Merican) had agreed to meet for lunch and I was to pick him up at Anwar’s office in Section 16, PJ.
When I got to the office, Din (Merican).... Din proceeded to disclose to me something that I made note of but made no inquiry of at the time. Let me try to narrate to you what he said as best as I can recall :
“...UMNO has sent a spy. They think we don’t know. Now we are spying on the spy.
And we are going to give him enough rope to hang himself.
And when the time comes, we will tighten the noose.” |

Anwar's revelations on Najib's alleged role in Rajak-Altantuya affair and the latter's murder may seal the DPM's political future. It is no wonder that the powers are so bent on eliminating Anwar. The more attempts are made to cover up, more will be revealed. Stay tuned.
http://www.malaysia-today.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=9483&Itemid=84
Altantuya was introduced to Razak Baginda by Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak ... the three were seen together at dinner in Paris ...
- Balasubramaniam was engaged by Abdul Razak Baginda to deal with alleged harassment by Altantuya; the submarine deal involving all the parties;
- Balasubramaniam’s evidence also mentions the extent of the relationship between Altantuya and Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak. We are not interested in the personal nature of the relationship. That is entirely his own business and hers.

Balasubramaniam was an ex-CID man employed by Razak Baginda and company. So he is no ordinary Private Investigator. He was totally disillusioned when the prosecutor in this criminal case has avoided mentioning the name of Najib at all. In fact Najib's name was totally removed from all testimonial. We thus have a KANGAROO court in existence in Malaysia, the BOLEHLAND. Malaysia a developed nation by 2020? Very unlikely at this rate of judicial manipulation and corruption.
With regard to Anwar's judgement of using Saiful as an aide? Many can conclude he has a lapse of good judgement here even though this aide was recommended by a former classmate. He should have known better. But in the heat of an election, he could have missed this overture from UMNO spies. His close advisers should have done a better job.

The sodomy allegation against Anwar is all a set-up by Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, the Barisan Nasional’s PM-in-waiting. He has defintely learnt a trick or two from Mahathir, but not an intelligent student though, because the same trick may not work this time.
At the trial for the murder of Altantuya (that has dragged on for a year), Najib had denied he had ever met the Mongolian woman. I was suspicious why he did not use the threat of suing for libel anyone who accused him of being with her at a dinner in Paris. Doing so would mean going to court where the secret would be revealed in no time. It’s now confirmed Najib has been telling lies all along.

Well then, with Najib eliminated, who is there to challenge Badawi now?
With Najib and Anwar fightingn it out in court, all Badawi needs to do is to maintain his silence till UMNO prsidency election in December 2008?
Then, will UMNO "king maker" is that stupid not to suport Badawi during this Crisis (assumng Najib is damged beyond repair); and worked out a compromsie with Anwar..making Najib the fall guy?
Will Anwar bite when offered theh Deputy PM post at teh expense of Najib in January 2009?
Like the return of Semangat back to the UMNO fold? _________________ The Law of The Kingdom is the Law

If you were a victim of sodomy, would you report to the police right away, or report to your political handlers, in this case the UMNO party headed by Najib, the Deputy Prime Minister. The story gets really bizarre but at what expense to the country. Inflation on the rise and the whole country is in a grip of intrigue of who is being "sodomised"...the RAKYAT (public or citizens) of course!
Friday July 4, 2008: Anwar’s accuser visited DPM at his home before lodging police report
| Quote: | KUALA LUMPUR: Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan met with Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak at the latter’s home to seek his view a few days before he lodged a police report against Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
In disclosing this yesterday, Najib who described Saiful as traumatised, said he listened and was sceptical about the accusation at first.
“I told him I leave it to him,” said Najib, who also said it was the first time he had met Saiful.
He added that when Saiful came to ask for a scholarship earlier, the latter met Najib’s special officer at his office.
Stressing that there was no conspiracy against Anwar, Najib said he was sceptical of Saiful’s accusations and did not want to make any conclusions when Saiful told him he had been sodomised by the PKR adviser.
Najib said he then told Saiful that it was up to him if he wanted to lodge a police report against Anwar.
Asked why he thought that Anwar was making personal attacks against him, Najib said he did not know, adding that perhaps Anwar thought that he was conspiring against him.
“There’s no conspiracy. Actually, this boy came to me to complain that he was sodomised by Anwar. “I was not convinced at first whether his story was true or otherwise. “I said to him ‘It’s up to you.’ I left it to him to decide whether he wanted to leave it to the police to investigate and carry out the next course of action.
“I saw him as genuine because he looked so frightened. His hands were cold. “I advised him to make his own decision, and he decided to tell me everything on what had happened. “I was not sure whether he was going to lodge a police report,” he added.
Asked what Saiful had told him, Najib said: “A lot.
“The stories are many. Maybe I will reveal them later, but only after the case is completed.”
Najib said the main issue was whether sodomy had happened or not.
Asked whether he would give a statement if an investigation were launched, Najib said he only heard Saiful’s allegation.
“The statement should be from him. It’s important that it should be from him, not from me,” he added.
“You cannot link the two things (Saiful’s visit to the DPM’s office and his meeting with Najib) together.
“He just came for help and he never met me when he came to the office (seeking a scholarship),” he added. |

Lai CF, why would Anwar go for the DPM post when he could be the PM if he could topple the government. Furthermore, he could not be the DPM, with Badawi being the PM within the UMNO hierachy since Anwar does not hold UMNO membership.

| How interesting! A victim of sodomy seeking advice and solace from a murder suspect. Sounds more like they had to get synchronise and concoct some cock and bull story to fool the public. Too bad the mastermind isn't very smart and there are too many loopholes that it can't hold any water.

Badawi refused to move and will "cosndier" durign December 2008.
And if he offered DPM post to Anwar to reunite the Malay Coalition again.......
And the itnerestign aspect of all this is can Anwar holds hsi present Coalition together for the next 5 years ranging from PAS to DAP?
You and I knew that that UMNO can learn a lesson ot two on how to consolidate political power from their southern neighbour?
"Sodomy" is the first shot, second shot perhaps is another equivalent of 1960's "Operation Coldstore".
It is not necessary to destroy Anwar, merely disrupt his coalition unity now, starting putting in agent provateur to play on the difference between PAS and DAP.
UMNO is weakened, not dead.
With Najib weakens now, is there anybody to challenge Badawi?
What if come November/December 2008, SIngapore suddenly comes to an agreement with malaysia and settled all thsoe hsitorical baggages prior to UMNO Presidnt Election?
- SIngapore agreed to paid Malaysia a fair price for raw water..say what Mahathri wanted RM3.97 per 1,000 gallon.
- Singapore anounced they are relocating the whole of JTC Industrial Estate over to IDR.
- SIngapore offered to build a new KTM Station at Marina Bay next to International Cruise Centre, and allow Malaysia to maintain the CIQ there.
- Singpaore offered to pay for the cosntruciton costs of building an underground KTM Rail link from Woodlands to Marina Bay.
- Singpaore offered to underwrite the cost of S$1-billion for a new Woodlands Checkpoint and paid for construction of Scenic Bridge on their territorial water.
Wouldn't that strengthen Badawi's hands, plus lucrative cosntruction contnracts for his cronies?
And he can offer Anwar a piece of thsi action by offering him to take charge of anyone of this mega-project like mahathri appointed anwar to take care of Sepang Airport project. _________________ The Law of The Kingdom is the Law

|
|
The Star (Malaysia) reported that 18 people, including doctors who examined the person who accused Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim of sodomising him.
So far, the "evidence" is purely speculative and circumstantial. There is no concrete proof of the alleged offence was committed at the time and place, and no reliable witnesses who are independent and neutral.
In the weeks ahead, would the police resort to coercing witnesses to corroborate their case against Anwar? Hints that the police would try to "identify" the remaining people who might have knowledge or knew of the alleged sodomy.
Police inspector Federal CID director Comm Datuk Bakri Zinin said Anwar would be required to give statements to the police. Will he be physically abused like the last time he was detained?
"If they refuse to come forward voluntarily to assist police, we will have no other choice but to compel them to come forward as provided for under Section 111 of the CTC.
He also urged and warned the media to not speculate about the case as it could jeopardise police investigations.
If convicted, the sentence would be jail term of 20 years and whipping.
Lai CF said :

If UMNO could put Anwar behind bars for several years without any backlash, it would effectively put an end to his career, in view of Anwar's age and his pivotal role in binding the opposition forces together.
UMNO may well have support among the Malay base that has gained from patronage and special rights and would prefer the status quo. Badawi being a weak leader, would face challenges and demands from various factions, Mahathir supporters, ultra-Malays, progressive Malays, coalition partners, etc. It is not simply a struggle with Najib that Badawi has to contend with.
| Quote: | | And he can offer Anwar a piece of thsi action by offering him to take charge of anyone of this mega-project like mahathri appointed anwar to take care of Sepang Airport project. |
While anything is possible in politics, the way the drama has unfolded shows that Anwar has been identified as the main threat to UMNO and hence a deal is highly unlikely. They want Anwar eliminated from the political scene. Badawi may not have full control of the situation. On shaky ground, weakened by calls for his resignation, the PM has to cover his arse. It would make more sense for Anwar to go for broke than to accept a DPM position, ie, if it is offered in the first place, but I seriously doubt it.

It seems the government is ready to hold on to power as long as possible and there is no way that UMNO will ever consider Anwar for any position within the power structure controlled by UMNO. Furthermore, Anwar has said many times before and after the elections, that he would not return to UMNO.
The army has been roped in as a measure for civil disobedience control jointly with the police. This act bores a bad omen for the country for it suggests that the government is no more able to control any possible civil disobedience should it arrest and put Anwar in jail on trump up charges.

Excerpts
Lawyer: Malaysian opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim provides alibi to police in sodomy case
International Herald Tribune - KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia:
Anwar will not give a DNA sample for fear it could be manipulated to frame him, his lawyer said. Sivarasa suggested if Anwar was to give a sample, it could be planted on the accuser, who is living under police supervision. DNA evidence was fabricated when Anwar was similarly accused of sodomy 10 years ago, and he does not trust the police not to do it again, his lawyer, Sivarasa Rasiah, said.
The new sodomy accusation against Anwar comes as the government is faced with growing public anger with the ruling coalition, which suffered election losses in March to a resurgent opposition. Anwar has vowed to build on that victory and topple the government in September.
During the interrogation Anwar gave “full details” of his alibi, Sivarasa said.
Anwar allowed himself to be stripped during a medical examination and even had his body parts measured. But he drew the line at giving a DNA swab, which he is not legally bound to do.
On Thursday, Home Minister Syed Hamid Albar challenged Anwar to give a DNA swab if he wants the truth to be known.
“What is he afraid of? He can even have his own doctor present when the tests are carried out,” he said.
Sivarasa said Anwar would consider giving a DNA sample if it can be “independently verified” that all procedures are “done professionally and without any interference from the police.”
He also questioned why the police report citing the aide has not been made public and “remains shrouded in secrecy.”

The police ridiculously claimed that the DNA sample from 10 years back was too old.
Have the police lost the records? What a shame.
Or is there a need to doctor fresh DNA sample?
-------------------------------------------------------------
Anwar's lawyer said that statements by Home Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar were tantamount to interfering in ongoing investigations.
Syed Hamid had suggested that Anwar pick his own doctors to examine his DNA sample and that he had nothing to fear.
Sivarasa told a press conference at Anwar's home in Segambut yesterday that a court order to force the PKR adviser to give his DNA sample was not permissible under Malaysian law.
He also reminded the authorities that police still had Anwar's DNA from the earlier case.
Sivarasa said the police bail for Anwar's release was RM10,000 and not RM150,000 as reported.

|
|
Most of the reasons and arguments have already been discussed in this forum. This writer also share some of the widely held views.
http://www.malaysiakini.com/letters/86384
Here are the reasons why I think Anwar is not guilty.
1. Is Anwar gay? A person who has fathered six children has established his sexual orientation firmly. Bisexuality is very rare and in any case he does not fit the mould. He has a loving family and his wife is standing steadfastly by him which says a lot.
2. The highly controversial sodomy conviction of 1998 failed to convince most people. A person in a position of power who allegedly cannot control himself to even keep away from his wife’s driver, must have a string of partners. One must ask, why has nobody else come out of the woodwork? Why was it necessary to coerce false confessions from two of his associates?
3. A person on the cusp of attaining political power would not be so stupid as to risk everything. If indeed one assumes that he cannot control his urge, where are the others that he may have violated or other consensual partners? With multiple partners, it’s a secret which is almost impossible to keep for a public figure.
4. Anwar’s anger and outrage at the new allegation is exactly how a wronged person will react. His body language when he speaks of the issue is consistent with his words.
5. When news broke of the police report against him, Anwar took refuge at the Turkish embassy. I believe he did so as he feared immediate arrest and not so much a threat on his life. This shows that Anwar believes there is a conspiracy against him rather than a private complaint which would not warrant immediate arrest. A guilty person would immediately assume it’s a private complaint.
6. Saiful’s resignation e-mail to Anwar did not suggest he had been sodomised and traumatised by his boss. This e-mail has not been denied by him.
7. The notion that a 61-year-old man can force himself on a 23-year-old youth is unthinkable. If threats were used, what can Anwar possibly threaten him with as he is not in a position of power?
Is there a conspiracy against Anwar? I believe there is for the following reasons.
1. The accuser, Saiful was obviously closely connected with Umno and has been photographed with a few Umno leaders including an aide to the deputy prime minister.
2. Saiful is obviously pro-Umno as had been revealed by his online postings. Why then did he induct himself into PKR as a volunteer if not for some ulterior motive?
3. His visit to the DPM’s office a few months before the incident was explained as him having gone there to apply for a scholarship. This is a very awkward explanation. As a college dropout, Saiful was not in the market for a scholarship and in any case, the DPM’s office is the wrong department to go.
And why would a scholarship applicant have his photograph taken with a senior aide? One must ask, why is it necessary to obfuscate and conceal the real purpose of his visit?
4. Najib at first denied he had ever met Saiful and later admitted that he met Saiful at his residence when a traumatised and sodomised Saiful came to ask for his advice. Why did Najib first deny and then admit later when under pressure? Was he trying to conceal something?
5. Najib said he listened to Saiful’s story and told him it’s up to him whether he wants to lodge a police report or not. This is not credible. Wouldn’t Najib have jumped at the opportunity to discredit his political nemesis and insist that Saiful make a police report?
It is wrong for anybody - much less a minister - who has been told a crime not to bring it to the attention of the law enforcement agencies. Why is Najib giving unbelievable explanations? Is he trying to divert all thoughts away from a conspiracy and overdoing it?
6. Najib said that Saiful visited him a few days before he made his police report. The report was made on Saturday and the sodomy was alleged to have occurred on Thursday. This means Saiful could only have visited Najib on Friday, one day before he made his report.
This is stretching the definition of ‘a few days’ to breaking point. Establishing when the meeting actually took place will shed light on the veracity of the allegation.
7. How easy is it for an ordinary person to drop in and see the DPM at his residence or office on such short notice? If he has been sexually violated, there is no need to hawk his allegation to politicians first before going to the police.
8. Saiful’s smiling and confident demeanor when he emerged a few days after his police report certainly does not indicate a man who has been sodomised and traumatised.
9. Saiful’s public challenge to Anwar to swear his innocence on the Quran is unbecoming of a real victim who would be expected to feel depressed and keep a low profile rather than play politics.
To round it up, let me deal with some objections.
1. It is too outrageous to imagine that Umno would weave a sodomy conspiracy against Anwar again as nobody would believe it.
Do you think negative public opinion will stop them? Umno controls the AG’s chambers, the police, the judiciary all of which are sufficient to convict a man of trumped-up charges. For good measure, they also control the mainstream press.
2. The allegations will increase sympathy for Anwar so a conspiracy is unlikely.
On the contrary, it could well discredit Anwar. The tactic could backfire but it is not beyond politicians to miscalculate the effects of their action.
3. Anwar stands to gain the most from it so Anwar must have planned all this.
Isn’t this even more outrageous than the above? No need to waste words on this.
4. Why sodomy again? Isn’t the script 10 years old?
What else can they pin on Anwar? He is not outwardly corrupt. A legal conviction is the most efficient way to get Anwar out of the political scene for good. After serving the sentence, he will have to wait another five years before running for public office by which time he may be too old to have any political ambition.
5. It is too transparent as Saiful has been photographed with high-level Umno politicians.
The plot may have been hatched after all those photographs. We have to be realistic, there are not many candidates who would do this.
6. Why did PKR take in a person without background checks?
He volunteered at a time when PKR was desperately short of staff. Once in, a person is not easily dislodged even when his previous pro-Umno leaning is known. There’s always the notion of fair play and judging a person by his work rather than his past.
In conclusion, when events really happen, details automatically fall into place. When there’s nothing to hide, explanations do not create more questions. A person’s demeanour and facial expression is a reflection of his inner thoughts.
All the bits and pieces collected together can create a complete picture. The picture is not complete but it is complete enough for me to decide that on the balance of probabilities, the incident never happened and Anwar is again facing another political conspiracy.

The government couldn't care less if it's actions are just or democratic, nor does it bother about reactions from it's people and the international community.
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/comment/leading_article/article4368587.ece
Hounding Anwar : Malaysia's attempt to smear the opposition is a squalid ploy, unworthy of a democracy
| Quote: | 21 July 2008
Malaysia is often cited as a Muslim country that has successfully embraced modern technology and participatory democracy. Its success in building an economy based on knowledge and enterprise is evident. Its ability to run a just and transparent democracy is far less apparent.
The arrest last week of Anwar Ibrahim, the ambitious and resilient opposition leader, bore all the hallmarks of a political vendetta. It came as Mr Anwar attempts to win over enough government supporters to bring down the unpopular and discredited Prime Minister, Abdullah Badawi. In March Mr Anwar's three-party People's Alliance made unprecedented gains in the general election, leaving the ruling United Malays National Organisation with a slim majority and threatening its hold on power for the first time since independence in 1957. Last month Mr Abdullah narrowly avoided the first no-confidence challenge to a sitting Prime Minister. And rising voter anger, spurred by a recent rise in petrol and diesel of up to 63 per cent, is encouraging some waverers to consider defection.
The 60-year-old opposition leader is a formidable threat. He rose swiftly under the former Prime Minister, Mahathir Mohamad, to become his heir apparent until the two fell out in 1998 over Mr Anwar's criticism of economic policy and allegations of nepotism. He was sacked and, as supporters led protests through the streets, arrested on charges of sodomy and corruption. He was assaulted by police in custody and his lurid trial, widely denounced as biased, led to a sentence of six years for corruption and nine for sodomy, a crime punishable by a term of up to 20 years. He was freed in 2004 when the Federal Court quashed the sodomy charge, but was banned from seeking office until April this year.
The autocratic Mr Mahatir has since retired. But his ruling party is afraid of revenge by a man so publicly mistreated. Its response has been a squalid attempt to sabotage Mr Anwar's comeback with a new smear campaign. It chose to return to the emotive charge of sodomy, producing a 23-year-old aide to level new charges. And although Mr Anwar agreed to be questioned, police staged a publicity-seeking hold-up of his car an hour before he was due to report. The aim, as Mr Anwar recognised, was clear: to provoke outraged supporters into protests that could be an excuse for a clamp-down on the opposition.
Humiliating Mr Anwar is a political priority. Little wonder that he suspects the police's request for DNA before releasing him last week is an attempt to fabricate evidence. The Government would do better to fight Mr Anwar on his political record. There is still legitimate concern over his extremist overtones on Islam in the past. Whether he fully accepts Malaysia's secular, multi-ethnic society remains unclear. Nor has he put forward a credible alternative to the fuel and food price rises now stirring popular discontent.
The Government is acting from weakness, however. Mr Abdullah was undermined by the stinging dismissal of his leadership by his retired predecessor, and hardly projects an image of competence. The Government has also been ensnared in a sex scandal, this time involving Mr Abdullah's deputy and a murdered Mongolian woman. Seeking political escape by hounding the Opposition is neither democratic nor just. Malaysia deserves better. |

There is no doubt that it is all a plot to decimate Anwar and PKR. As Raja Petra's investigative report suggests, the doctor diagnosed that Saiful was not sodomized but he went ahead with making a police report against Anwar. The police also had Anwar's DNA sample from 1998 but insisted on getting another.
All these are not in line with logical understanding and legal procedures. Bewildering? Anything is possible in Boleh-land.

Why are investigations continuing when it's proven that no sodomy has been committed and that Saiful is a liar. The case should be junked. Let the innocent carry on with their lives.
Review : The Case against Anwar
WALL STREET JOURNAL ASIA - It’s been a month since an aide to Anwar Ibrahim accused the Malaysian opposition leader of sodomy, yet no formal charge has been filed nor has Mr. Anwar been allowed to see the police report filed against him. Now, the case against Mr. Anwar looks shakier still.
Yesterday, Mr. Anwar’s supporters pointed to an independent political blog, MalaysiaToday, which posted a two-page medical report it said was written by a doctor who examined Saiful Bukhari Azlan on June 28, the day the aide went to the police with his complaint. The alleged report is written in shorthand and signed by Dr. Mohamed Osman Abdul Hamid. It says that a rectal examination showed no active bleeding, tears or injury.
The hospital yesterday confirmed that Dr. Mohamed is on staff, but wouldn’t comment on the report. MalaysiaToday’s editor, Raja Petra Kamarudin, confirmed to us by telephone that he has seen the original report. Dr. Mohamed hasn’t been seen since the post on MalaysiaToday. A spokesman for the Prime Minister’s office declined comment to us. The Deputy Inspector-General of Police told the New Straits Times that investigations were continuing.
This great wall of silence raises many questions. If it’s true that Mr. Anwar’s aide didn’t present any physical signs of injury at the hospital, then on what basis was the police report filed? If the aide went to a government hospital to get a second opinion — as required under the law in sodomy cases, and as the first doctor suggested — what did that second doctor see? And why is the accuser, Mr. Saiful, still formally under police protection?
This has hallmarks of a case being built after, not before, the purported “crime.” In 1998 — the last time Mr. Anwar was accused of sodomy — the prosecution’s case centered around an alleged semen-stained mattress and DNA taken under false pretenses from Mr. Anwar. The police’s handling of the evidence was so flawed that in 2004, Malaysia’s highest court overturned the conviction. Now, the police have requested that Mr. Anwar provide DNA samples again. To what end?
Yesterday, news of the doctor’s report circulated quickly on blogs. Mr. Anwar’s People’s Justice Party released a statement calling for “a complete disclosure of the ‘facts’ of this case to the public.” The Malaysian Bar Association, in a statement, said the “credibility of the Malaysian justice system as a whole” is at stake.
And therein lies the crux of the matter. The case against Mr. Anwar in 1998 was politically motivated and was overturned. Ten years later, the legal system is again being put to the test. The longer the police wait to make their case public, the more questions will be raised about their conclusions.

| There is speculation that Anwar may still be arrested to prevent him from contesting in the by-elections. Instead of closing the case, the police have submitted papers of their "investigations" are now with the Attorney-General's Chambers for further action. According to legal experts, Saiful's first medical report which was leaked to the press is relevant and valid. It is futile for the authorities to fabricate sodomy that did not exist or happen. This is the height of abuse of power and covering up criminal offence of political leaders by framing the opponent. People in the world are flabbergasted and sick of the manipulation and foul play.
