Terrorist Plot against Olympic uncovered Chinese authorities foiled plots to kidnap foreigners and carry out suicide attacks around the Beijing Olympics. In Xinjiang 45 suspects were detained and explosives and firearms seized in a police operation which cracked two terrorist groups seeking to disrupt the Olympics. Instead of supporting worldwide efforts to eradicate terrorism, Reuters cast this incident as "a fresh blow to the image of harmony China has sought to promote before the Games". Terrorism is fine if it happens in China as long as it does not happen on home ground or near one's backyard? Applying double standards. http://www.reuters.com/article/newsOne/ ... 10?sp=true Reminiscence of the Munich 1972? A grim awakening to liberal countries who support "freedom" of Tibet? Terrorism in any form or any cause should not be condoned. Remember Munich 1972? The differences were Palestine was war zone while Tibet's peace was disrupted by violent rioters. Yet many western countries rallied behind Israel and denounced the Arab terrorists. All countries should collaborate to halt terrorism that threaten the lives of many innocents. http://www.palestinefacts.org/pf_1967to1991_munich.php |

| Post subject: | China has a lot on its plate! |
China needs some fine media handling. I wonder how much of an education/experience those people at the Foreign Service or the National Press have. I believe news of the arrests and dismantling of the terrorist groups in Xinjiang should have been done quietly until the Relay Torch is over and in Beijing. Right now, there is just to much commotion and widespread anti-Chinese feelings to believe the press release from China. China must now wait for the rest of the relay to finish and then decides whether it is in its national interest to cancel the Games totally. National Interests are more important than to showcase the hospitality and achievement of the Middle Kingdom since the gunboat diplomacy by the Western powers which include Britain, France, US, Germany and an Asian pirate nation called Japan. The current "protests" in the Western countries only indicate their past mischiefs and are therefore good enough for all compatriots to see. Just imagine in the old days when China was weak and could not say "NO". Remember the next Olympic games: winter in 2010 in Vancouver, Canada and Summer games in London in 2012. Chinese people have long memories. Perhaps the Chinese and other concerned people should plan to voice the third world treatment and living conditions of Canadian Natives especially in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec. The basic "human rights" of these natives have been infringed upon, many more times since their defeat by colonists. In the name of freedom, they are able to buy alcohol and eat tainted fish from mercury loaded streams. Basic amenities like sewage treatment plants are lacking and water for drinking is polluted. Native infant mortality is many times higher than those non-natives. Lack of meaningful jobs and alcoholism and dysfunctional families have contributed also to high suicidal rates among the natives. So the government of Canada has ensured the "rights" of the natives to perish in their native lands. The natives do not have colorful figures in the likes of the Dalai Lama or Hollywood stars. If any of you who "really care" about human rights and dignity, come out and protest vigorously the cultural genocides in Canadian Indian Reservations during the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. The progress in Indian reservations since the days when they lost their land to the white settlers is negligible as compared to that for the Tibetan ex-slaves in particular and the province in general. China has done a lot for its people since the days of liberation. London OLympics in 2012? I wonder whether the British will have a torch relay through its former colonies. Will she have the audacity to showcase her past imperial glory (mistakes) while relaying through places in Africa, Middle East and Asia. Of course, the British would prefer to relay through countries that she would ensure friendly spectators in countries like in Europe, Australia, US, Canada and Japan. Remember her past history of divide and rule. AND all Chinese have not forgotten the Opium war. The Chinese and all former colonised people will give the British a good protest. Now Olympics is going to be history. The Frenchman who initially invented the Olympics so as to bring nations together has only to blame the current shortie President who sets the initial stages for boycotting the Beijing Olympics. |

| Post subject: | Tibet Youth Congress Suggests Suicide Bombing |
This time it's for real. Tibet Youth Congress chief has preached suicide bombing, a change of tactics, to achieve the goal of independence. Can the Dalai Lama try to put his followers on the leash? It is not doing the free Tibet organizations any good, for they are terrorists. |

| Post subject: | Remember the Talibans! |
The Tibet Youth Congress, like the Mujaheddin (precursors to the Talibans), has been organised and trained by the CIA. So it does not come as a surprise that it would not resort to such terrorist tactic. This organisation has used terrorist/guerrilla techniques in a covert manner inside China and to state its policy openly is really not a surprise to Beijing. |
