I sense trouble brewing and sparks flying between neighbours that have seen many border disputes and war zones. Cambodia would benefit from Thaksin's advice and wealth. The wily Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen seem all prepared to disregard ASEAN amity and cooperation. What could Thailand do with Cambodia bent on defying and frustrating its larger neighbour except to play up nationalist feelings?

Thailand recalled its ambassador to Phnom Penh yesterday to protest against the appointment of convicted ex-PM Thaksin Shinawatra as economic adviser to Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen and his government.

At the same time, the government said it wanted to review all bilateral agreements and commitments signed between Thailand and Cambodia by both current and previous administrations.

What do you know? The Thai PM's popularity soars 3 times for downgrading ties. In comparison to 23.3 per cent in the survey in September, Abhisit's popularity leaped to 68.6 per cent. People are gaming for a good fight to divert their attention from the ailing economy. Ask them whether war would boost the economy?

National pride always stand in the way of peace among mankind. History will repeat itself no matter or for whatever reasons to go to war. Why can't the Thais and the Khymers live and let live. If Thaksin can help develop Cambodia, so much the better.....Indochina will be prosperous and peace can return.

Some arm dealers, Russians or Yanks or Europeans, are hoping for a fight. There is money to be made by these bastards.
